The Funniest Photos From Comic-Con
Comic-Con is a multi-genre comic book convention that is held annually in San Diego, California. It gives people the opportunity to listen to panels of speakers, meet their idols, see unreleased trailers, and of course, dress up as their favorite film, TV show, novel, or comic book characters. People like to really go all-out when it comes to dressing up or what's commonly referred to as "cosplay," and rarely do people disappoint. So, here are the funniest pictures captured of people at Comic-Con.
Will Farrell (Kind Of) Brought His Character To Life
Will Farrell may best be known for his live-action comedies such as Step Brothers, Old School, Blades of Glory, among many others. But he also lent his voice in the animated film Megamind.
So, at Comic-Con, in a very Will Farrell move, he decided to bring his character to life to promote the movie, and the result is a little scary. He must have made this costume himself because we doubt any of the film's producers would have been okay with him representing the film like this.
He Fooled Everyone!
At Comic-Con, it's not unusual for people to dress up as Breaking Bad characters, considering how groundbreaking the show was. So, you can assume that there are plenty of Walter Whites walking around, but none were as good as this.
Bryan Cranston, the actor who plays Walter White walked around Comic-Con all day in a hyper-realistic mask with everyone assuming that it was another die-hard fan of the show. However, he surprised everyone when he took off the mask to reveal it was actually him!
We Found Chewie's Girlfriends
These girls cleverly integrated two different film series into one costume. They paid tribute to the Star Wars franchise by dressing up as rather flashy female Wookiees. However, judging by their different colors and the way that they're posing, we think it's safe to say that they are also going for a Charlie's Angels look.
We have to give it to them, these are quite impressive costumes which can be either beautiful or scary depending on how you look at it.
This One's For The Older Folks
A lot of people don't think about the classic show Blue's Clues very often, but it seems to be at the forefront of this guy's mind! A fair amount of people who dress up for Comic-Con keep their costumes relevant, but this guy decides to take everyone on a trip down memory lane.
Sadly, for most of the kids at the con, they won't remember the original Blue's Clues which inspired his very creative costume.
Even The Dogs Joined In!
Although dressing up as a stormtrooper from the Star Wars franchise isn't necessarily the most unique costume, it's always impressive. But how many Storm Troopers have you seen walking around with an adorable little dog dressed up as a member of the Rebel Alliance?
We're willing to guess not too many, which makes this costume so cool. We hope the dog was okay walking around with all of the crowds and seeing everyone dressed up in crazy costumes!
Dance Vader
Darth Vader is widely considered to be one of the most notorious villains in film history. Starting off as an innocent boy, he had the potential to be the most powerful Jedi ever, with some even claiming that he was the Chosen One who would be able to balance the force.
Well, this person had a lighter take on Darth Vader trading out his all black for red, adding a chain, and jamming to to a boom box. Far less frightening.
Female Droogs
If you've ever read or seen A Clockwork Orange, you'll know that it definitely isn't a lighthearted film, which makes these girls' decision to dress up as the Droogs so interesting.
Their costumes are spot on, we just hope they don't have any ideas to actually recreate any of the "ultra-violence" seen in the story. However, by the looks of it, these seem like relatively innocent girls, they just happen to like really dark stuff!
Squirrel Girl To The Rescue!
At the San Diego Comic-Con, sci-fi actor John Barrowman decided to bring a lesser-known superhero to the forefront and that is Squirrel Girl. The superhero has appeared in comic books published by Marvel Comics, and it's only a matter of time before Hollywood sinks its teeth into this character.
We have to give it to Barrowman though, he's really rocking that outfit, and we hope that there were enough people there to get it and not think he was Sandy from Bikini Bottom.
"No...No..."
Although there are numerous well-known characters from the iconic comedy series Family Guy, there are also a lot of characters that audiences all forget about.
This girl decided to bring one of those forgotten characters to life and chose to dress up as the maid Consuela, known for her love of Lemon Pledge. She really hit the nail on the head with this one and even has a life-sized doll of Stewie as a cherry on top!
Coming In With The Goods
We know that the superhero Batman is capable of incredible feats such as swinging from buildings, apprehending bad guys, and protecting the city of Gotham. But to us, those are minor deeds compared to this man dressed as Batman bringing in takeout food into the con.
This is the true hero that we all deserve, we just hope that all that food isn't for him. We're also surprised he didn't hide it in any of Batman's incredibly deep pockets!
Thinking Outside Of The Box!
There's no doubt that Wolverine is one of the most popular and formidable X-Men in the Marvel Universe, why do you think they keep making movies about him? This guy, like many others, decided to dress as Wolverine for this Comic-Con, however, his costume is distinctly unique.
Not only is he Wolverine, but he's also a banana. Surely, there's nobody else in the entire con who thought of this unusual combination. He looks like he's ready for anything!
Like Father, Like Daughter
In case you were unaware, Aaron Paul plays the character Jesse Pinkman, an ultimate good guy who is dragged deep into the criminal world in the show Breaking Bad. The show is considered to be one of the best ever made, so it's no surprise that there are plenty of people dressed up as Breaking Bad characters walking around.
While Aaron Paul may have refrained from reprising his old character from the con, that didn't stop him from dressing up his daughter. We hope she isn't cooking up anything she isn't supposed to!
You're Strong. But I Can Snap My Fingers, And You'd All Cease To Exist, Foo
Regarded as one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe, Thanos has had encounters with many groups, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
A fierce adversary, this guy decided to change Thanos' look up a little bit. He stayed with the characteristic colors and themes of the characters such as the purple skin and the Infinity Gauntlet. However, he twisted it with some different clothes to create the effect of a "Cholo Thanos." Not only is this incredibly clever but very well done!
He Just Can't-Wait To Be King
The Lion King is widely considered to be one of Disney's greatest works, so when it was re-made for a 2019 release, both adults and children fell in love once again.
So, for this Comic-Con, this dog owner decided to get their pooch in on the action and dressed them as Simba. Although he may be a dog most of the time when he puts on that mane, he takes on the image of a true lion king.
Work With What You Got!
While some people might spend hundreds of dollars and hours on their elaborate costumes, not everyone has the time or resources for such things. That seems to be the case for this man, but that didn't stop him from dressing up as his favorite superhero.
Who says that your costume has to be the best? It's obvious that he's Iron Man, so he got the job done in our opinion. If anything, we respect his dedication!
Couldn't Decide One One
It looks like this guy knew that he wanted to be a DC superhero, but he couldn't decide between his favorites, either Batman or Superman. Most likely, after hours of contemplation, he came to the conclusion that he would just have to go as both.
While this costume could have turned out to not look all that great, that's certainly not the case here. He really did nail the half-and-half look, and probably had people cursing under their breath that they didn't have the same idea.
An Iconic Duo!
When most people hear of iconic duos, many might think Woody and Buzz or Batman and Robin. Well, we think of Indiana Jones and the giant boulder that almost crushed him to death!
These two must have put some thought in to come up with costumes this original and so well executed. We wonder if that means the guy has to walk behind the female Indiana Jones the whole time because that could get complicated!
Polar Opposites
It looks like these two decided to dress up in matching Pikachu costumes, the iconic Pokemon character. While there's no doubt that's what they were going for, they certainly put a bit of a spin on it.
With these costumes, some parents might be covering their children's eyes when they walk by because the girl's costume might be a little too revealing, and the guy's, well, you get the picture. We're willing to bet they sure got a lot of reactions!
Everyone At Once
Wow, this person really went all out when it comes to the costume department. They clearly like their superheroes, and it seems they're a fan of Jim Carey movies as well. Here, they can be seen wearing costumes from Captain America, Spiderman, Thor, Iron Man, and The Mask.
They clearly were indecisive when it came to what they wanted to wear. But hey, Comic-Con only comes around once a year so they decided to give it everyone they got.
Ariel Really Let Herself Go
Many people think of Ariel as a cute princess mermaid with flowing red hair who wanted nothing more than to live as a normal girl and to be with the man she fell in love with.
Well, it looks like this guy decided to do his own take of the Disney princess, and the final product is undeniably hilarious. He threw the typical depiction of Ariel right out of the window and decided to let it all hang out, literally.
