As every day passes, Bentley Motors is one step closer to taking on Pikes Peak. The automaker has scheduled a Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year, where they will attempt to break the world record time up the famous peak. For the attempt, they will be using their brand new Continental GT.

The current Pikes Peak record is an intimidating 10:26.9. Bentley isn't backing down, though. Last year, the brand sent an SUV up the mountain and finished the climb in 10:49.9. We imagine the Continental GT is a bit more powerful than an SUV, meaning Bentley not only has a chance to break the current record but smash it.

Getting behind the wheel of the production GT is Rhy Millen, also known as "King of the Mountain." How could he possibly disappoint with a name like that?

Brian Gush, the Director of Motorsport for Bentley said, "We have taken much learning from our successful visit to Pikes Peak last year with the Bentley Bentayga and applied it to our preparations this time around. We are proud to demonstrate the Continental GT’s breadth of abilities in competition on a global stage.” What do you think? Are you excited for the big ride up the peak?
