Nissan and Infiniti Recall More Than 1.2 Million Vehicles

The automakers have announced a voluntary recall on over 1.2 million vehicles. The recall is for various new models and affects the backup cameras.

The backup camera recall is because of a problem with rearview display image when the car is in reverse. The setting for the camera can be adjusted by the driver so that the image is no longer visible and the system will keep that setting for the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse and will continue not to display an image.

The models included in the recall include Nissan Altima, Sentra, Titan, Versa Note, Versa Sedan, Frontier, GT-R, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, and Pathfinder. Infiniti models included are the Q50, Q60, QX30, QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L and QX80. The company estimates that 100% of vehicles recalled have the issue.

The automaker is not aware of any accidents related to this condition according to a Nissan spokesperson. Owners of the vehicles will be contacted by the company and they will fix the problem for free with a software upgrade.
