The Roush Nitemare F-150 Incinerates Rubber
Trucks aren't supposed to be able to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds. They are bulky and made for hauling, not tearing down the freeway at breakneck speeds. That used to be the case, anyway, then Roush came along and got its hands on a Ford F-150.
Dubbed the Nitemare F-150, the racing ready truck package comes as a $20,000 upgrade. The company claims it can hit 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds if that's the kind of thing you want your truck to do.
In total, the upgrade to the Nitemare comes fully loaded with a Roush supercharger, 22-inch black wheels, Roush graphics, a lowering kit, and a brand new exhaust system. And just to make sure you're making a sound investment, you'll get a three-year, 36,000 miles warranty to keep it in top shape.
To prove how fast the Nitemare is, Roush brought in a team of specialists to try it out including Aaron Kaufman, Robb Holland, and Justin Pawlak. They tested two versions of the truck, one with a SuperCrew and the other without. The SuperCrew clocked a zero to 60 speed in 4.1 seconds. The regular Nitemare pulled it off in 3.9 seconds. Bur how much torque does it have for hauling?
