Redneck Car Hacks So Awful We Can’t Help But Laugh
One thing that's universal is how expensive it is to fix your vehicle. Whenever that check engine light comes on, your heart skips a beat. Even driving over a little pothole could lead to minor breathing palpitations because there's a possibility that you might need a new tire. It happens to the best of us, but making sure your car can still hit the road safely is the main priority. Do everyone a favor and take it to the shop or someone who knows what they're doing. Do not replicate these awful redneck car hacks, no matter how crafty they seem.
We Hope The Batteries Don't Run Out
If you've got somewhere to be when the sun is down but your headlights don't work, what can you do? Sure, you can order an Uber or a Lyft, but that might be too expensive.
How about grabbing the biggest flashlights you own and tapping them to the hood of your car? There's no way you'll get a ticket and you'll be illuminating the streets better than ever. Someone told that to the owner of this car.
The Snow Has To Go
For people who don't live in the snow, they can't begin to imagine why someone would even want to do this. Those who have to deal with snow during the colder seasons have it hard.
However, no matter how much snow you have on your windshield, you shouldn't be driving around like this. There are so many alternatives for you to take, and using a broom attached to your wipers has to be the laziest, most comical route.
For Safety Purposes
What good is a car if you wake up in the morning and it's gone? If you have no lock on your door, that automatically increases the odds of someone thieving your vehicle.
If you've got no time to go get the original lock on your door fixed, you can always attach one of these puppies! Okay, maybe not, but it's the thought that counts, right? Getting in and out of this car must be a real hassle.
Turn Up The Tunes!
Driving in silence isn't fun. Every now and then it can be peaceful, but it isn't for everyone on a consistent basis. Maybe that's why this person decided to tape up their old stereo to the dashboard.
To each their own, but we don't think that tape is going to last very long. One unexpected break and that thing is liable to fall off and land where it shouldn't be landing.
Wood You Look At That?
If you ever thought you were having a bad day, then you haven't seen anything like this before. This driver lost their whole door and installed a wooden one with hinges that might fall off by going over a speed bump too fast.
Not only that, but there's no window. If it rains, this person is out of luck. We hope the owner of this car didn't have to drive around like this for too long.
That's One Way To Protect Your Gas
The usage of CD's has dropped significantly thanks to Bluetooth and music streaming services. However, that doesn't mean you should use one of your old CDs to fill the void of your original gas tank cover.
Especially if you're using it this way. The tape job on this is questionable at best. This person might as well leave it open. That might have looked better than this failed art project. We don't want to know what was going on in their head when they came up with this.
How's This For Safety
Safety comes first, right? You don't want to be riding around and get a ticket because your seat belt is broken. Just be like this guy and make your own that seems completely safe.
Or don't be like this guy. We aren't experts but we don't think that's going to be too helpful if an accident took place. It could become unlatched and next thing you know you're sliding around in the car with no help.
Just Print A Solution
Does that light seem different to you? Pay close attention to the rest of the car parts before you focus on that headlight. Everything seems to be natural and correct until you see that light.
That's because it was printed out and placed there as a replacement. If they're going to do that, might as well print out the rest of the of missing parts. Why stop at the light? You might as well get the whole package.
This Band-aid Won't Help
Wow, they make band-aids to patch up automobile issues now? We're shocked! All you have to do is add some ropes to keep them in place and you're good to go!
In other news, we hope you don't think this is a good idea! We're sure the cops might have pulled this car over at least once to figure out when they're going to get it fixed. The damage must be catastrophic for this person to place a huge band-aid on it.
You Know The Drill
Help us out here a little. Is the drill a replacement for the window or to open the door? Even though it's only one drill, there's a lot going on in this photo.
Does this person need to activate the drill to roll down the window or do they start it to roll the windows up and down? What's really going on here? A lot of questions but not enough fixing. Just take it to the shop.
Have A Nice Ride
What in tarnation is going on with this one? Our next question is, why did they keep the back part of the chair attached? Can't you just leave the part where you sit and take off the back rest?
Also, is this illegal? We've seen a lot of interesting inventions, but not one like this on a motorcycle. We also want to know what in the world happened to the original seat? Is this just for fun?
This Should Do The Trick
If you have ever seen this on a friend's or family members car and you are considering riding with them, we strongly advise that you don't take that trip. A soda can is not the route you want to take when fixing a pipe on a car.
You never know what could happen. Our prayers go out to anyone who has ever had to do this just to get around. May the force be with you at all times.
This One Is Interesting
It's not everyday you find someone this lazy, yet so creative. It's a simple trick but it looks like it gets the job done. Of all the mistakes we've seen so far, this might be the most practical one.
The only thing is, one might get too comfortable with this and keep it that way. That's not the way you want to live your life. We hope we aren't giving you guys any bright ideas...
Well Would You Look At That
What we have here is a case of a faulty driver seat. It must go all the way back if there isn't anything there to support it. This person figured adding this homemade stopper made of wood would be the best way to go.
Any amount of slipping and you can call it a night. Imagine the chair going back while you're driving full speed on the freeway. You had better hope you can react fast enough!
It Has To Start Somehow
You can't drive a car if you can't start it. You can't start it if you don't have the slot to slide your keys in. Honestly, we give kudos to this person for figuring out how to operate the vehicle this way.
There's no telling how long they will and can keep this up, but if it's getting them from point A to B, then more power to them. This life we live is rough.
Turn On the A/C!
It's a hot summer day and you need to cool down immediately. You're on a long drive and rolling down the windows doesn't help. You reach over to turn on the A/C and then the knob falls off.
Now what do you do? Of course, you just add a water hose knob and all your issues are solved. Not the brightest of ideas but it's quick thinking. Burning up in the car is the worst.
We Wonder How Far That'll Take Him...
The Big Wheels that toddlers drive are some of the coolest toys they could get. It gets them around the house and the driveway like no other. They're perfect for children.
That's just it, they're perfect for children. We don't fully expect anyone to ever try and pull off something like this. We also hope the driver of this car didn't really try and drive on the road like this. Pure mayhem could have taken place with this on the road.
Knock Knock
Trucks can be fun to drive. You can put a lot of stuff in the back and keep on pushing like nothing's there. Sometimes, however, the tailgate can break off. That's when you take it to a professional.
You don't take it to your Uncle Bob's house. When you play stupid games, you get stupid results. We're not calling this stupid, but it is far from ordinary. Does the knob open it up?
The Ultimate Seat
Yes, this is 100% legal and safe. False, we just wanted to stretch the truth briefly. This is not safe and not legal at all. How the chair is even staying in place as the driver drives is beyond our understanding.
You must really have somewhere to go to be riding around like this. That, or you like playing with your life and with the police. One sight of this and the sirens will be roaring.
What In The Frankenstein?
Someone said this is Florida's official state car. We don't know if we should give Floridians more credit for their creativity as a whole, or just the person who constructed this. It's quite the idea.
The biggest question is what made this person want to do something like this? To create a Frankenstein type of vehicle isn't something you see everyday. What your first reaction be if you saw this cruising past you on the freeway?
The Original Limo
When it's prom season, the kids love to arrive in style and that usually means a limousine. People of importance also like to travel in limos, its just what they do. However, what in the world would you call this?
It looks like a homemade limo that an evil scientist created in his lab. We wonder how long it took to figure out how to get this thing to work? Also, how reliable is it?
Is There A Vampire In There?
If you pay close attention to the details of this car hack, you can notice that it isn't that bad of a job. The bolts look firm and secure, the lock to gain access looks legit and there are no crevices.
Still, we wouldn't advise you make your trunk look this way even if you are a master craftsmen. There's a reason trunks are made with metal and not wooden boards. We give them an E for effort.
Two Is Better Than One
We've seen earlier how someone used a beach chair for their driver seat (which is still highly dangerous). Now, someone found mini bench seats for both the driver and passenger. Is this a custom edit or something that blossomed out of necessity?
Either way, how are they really sitting while driving? Is this a car for someone of only a shorter stature? There's just so much going on right now and we don't know where to begin.
Get Your Popcorn!
If this person is trying to make some dirty engine popcorn, then by all means keep it up. However, if this person doesn't want to start a fire while driving, then he or she needs to take that popcorn holder out.
Unless there are some true car experts out there reading this and think the vehicle should be fine with this, then we will detract our statement. If not, we hope this message makes it to the owner of this car.
Keeping Out All Water
We're not sure if this is the smartest idea. Well, pretty much none of the inventions in this list have been that great of ideas, but this one is obscurely alarming.
What if the tape releases and the screen falls on you while you drive? Maybe it fall onto the street on the freeway and cause the person behind to freak out and cause a lethal accident. This needs to be fixed right away or else...
Keep It Rolling...
There's nothing worse than an unexpected flat tire and no spare in the trunk. Well, we take that back because this is worse than that. There's no reason a living creature should be taking this car for a spin with a wheel like that.
We understand you have places to be and if you can't find a ride or call an Uber, what can you do? One thing you shouldn't do is this and we're positive.
Let The Air In
This isn't something you should ever see in your lifetime. The day you drive pass someone who installed a swamp cooler in their car this way, you should turn around and go home. Just to check that the world is about to end.
We're assuming the gadget on the trunk is what's powering the cooler. That, or it could be the back piece of chainsaw. Let it be whatever you want it to be at this point.
The Best Sound System
This guy took the custom in-car stereo to the next level with this one. If you look at their legs, it looks like their knees are holding it up so we don't know if its stable on its own.
If it weren't for that, then this wouldn't that bad. With proper installation, this wouldn't be such a bad idea. However, this is far from proper and it looks borderline as dangerous as the other fiascos on this list.
For Safety
How are you going to drive at night if you can't see? Illegally, that's how. Never fear, we have genius' that know how to use tape. That's right, if your headlight is out, all you have do is tape on some flashlights just as seen above.
Said no one ever. If anything, this is a strictly temporary fix to a huge problem. The cops get a load of this and you're about to get a pretty big ticket.
Is Anyone Hungry?
This one falls more in line with the popcorn debacle. Seriously, where are people coming up with these ideas from? If this looks safe to you then the world needs a reeducation on what the word safety means.
We're not saying something is bound to go wrong, but something is potentially bound to go wrong. We don't know exactly what, but this doesn't obey the laws of mechanic-ism in any way. If it does, then we might need to give it a try.
Very Interesting...
It looks like a Snapchat use came across a highly questionable truck adjustment. When the bumper is away, the logs will play. Well, logs are quite sturdy and strong, so this isn't that bad of a change.
It only looks tacky, to look at, but it could actually be useful. Just don't think you're going to be ramming down any walls with this custom adjustment. The log can only withstand so much before it begins to give away.
There's No Way...
There's no way this truck is doing this. Sadly in reality, however, it looks as if it is doing this. How much speed is this thing picking up? Are they keeping it only on the streets and off the highways?
This is safety hazard on so many levels and the drive of this vehicle must not be afraid of much to drive away in something like this. There's no telling when something could go wrong.
They Needed Light
This hack isn't so bad as the others. It's not like the light is gone and replaced with flashlights held up by tape. No, the lids just won't stay open. What's the best remedy for that? A screwdriver holding them up.
At the club, a screwdriver might awaken you a bit, but driving, we hope it doesn't get loose and fall out. It must be a hassle having to remember to do this every night you head out.
We Need To Know What's Behind Us
Honestly, we're not even mad at this one. It isn't 100 percent practical, but it certainly gets the job done. The only thing we suggest is getting rid of the handle of the mirror to make for a more crisp makeover.
Sometimes you have to think quickly when it comes to your car repairs. For the interim, this isn't as bad as it looks. We just don't know if the mirror holds the same effectiveness as the stock version.
Let The Good Times Roll...
She'll be rolling around the mountain when she comes! Who in their right mind would even attempt this? That wheel should only be able to get you up and down your neighborhood.
Try taking this any further than that and sparks might start flying. When the person put this baby wheel on he or she probably laughed a bit and thought it was a good idea. Wrong, there's no way this is good in any shape.
The Sponge Can Do It
Sponges are very effective cleaning tools. They get the dishes, sinks, counter tops, and just about anything in your household. They are the jack of all trades when it comes to cleaning up messes.
That doesn't mean they should be wiping away rain drops from your window shield. How far are people willing to go to test their "bright" ideas? Clearly, there is no stopping anyone who thinks this was clever. There's no telling what they're capable of.
That'll Get The Job Done
Yeah, that'll get the job done. If only it were a Hot Wheels car and not a real one. We would like to think this was a joke, but no, it looks real as ever. When will people learn?
The second that tape gives up while you're driving, say goodbye to your view. This car is finished and needs to head to the shop right away. This driver should not be driving this at all.
What In The Mercedes Benz Is This?
Did the original logo melt under immense heat and turn into this monstrosity? If that's the case then that's unfortunate for sure. However, if this is just some paper clips folded into the logo, then this person needs to get it together.
Might as well leave the logo all the way off at this point. It hardly looks like anything anyone would want on the front of their luxury car. You're taking away the elegance.
What A Unique "Upgrade"
What do we have here? A bus that looks like its undergoing some renovations. Is it attempting to go all wood on the exterior design? We have no clue, but we hope this isn't just some fill in because the original broke down.
If this only a vibe the drive was going for then we suggest they don't try and update any other buses. Not only is this not easy on the eyes, but it just doesn't make sense.
Nice Stitch Job
No, that is not a nice stitch job. Do you want to know why? It's because those are staples! The destruction that occurred on this steering wheel is highly questionable. We hope it was just the airbag popping out and nothing else.
Seriously though, shouldn't the car company help you get this fixed after the airbags come out? You can see some the staples have already fallen out on the right side. Higher a professional next time.
